About Netwatcher

Important Note:  Effective November 2002 there will be no new Web versions of Netwatcher posted.  A subscription is now required to read the newsletter.

Netwatcher is an electronic newsletter published monthly by CIMI Corporation and covering a wide range of industry and technology topics. Written entirely by our CEO, Tom Nolle, it cuts through the hype that distorts so much of our understanding of current events and issues. The topics range from broad business and market conditions to technology details. It's not material for beginners; expect to be challenged by many of the articles.

First published in 1982, Netwatcher reflects a no-nonsense view of the industry and the key issues that drive it. Many of the topics covered there in depth have been ignored completely by the popular and trade press, and yet these topics have proved pivotal in shaping industry conditions. We're particularly proud of our record in the regulatory space, where our forecasts of regulatory attitudes and impacts have been among the most accurate in the industry.

There are four possible sections in a Netwatcher issue, though one or more may be omitted in a given month:

Issues are distributed monthly by email in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. The current version of the Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from Adobe's web site, and we strongly recommend you load the latest version to view issues. Version 4 or later is required to view issues through May 2002, and Version 5 is required for all later issues!

Samples of some back issue extracts are available here on our website for review, as a decision aid to those interested in subscribing.  About a third of the content in a given issue is held for subscribers only.. We recommend that you review these to measure their value to you before you subscribe. The latest issues are offered in Acrobat PDF format only, so these issues are a good representation of what actual subscription issues will look like.  If you can't read these issues, you won't be able to read the newsletter.  Note that all Internet PDF issues have printing suppressed, as will the individual subscriber edition of the newsletter, but printing is enabled on company editions of the newsletter.  Don't ask us for printable versions of the Internet edition, please.  We will not provide samples of complete issues, so please don't bother to ask for that either..
